Scott Thompson

Scott Thompson is a Technical Director at Squadron Data. Scott is a Computer Engineer with over a decade of Big Data experience working with top Fortune companies across the globe. Scott is an expert in security for data in motion and at rest (SSL/TLS, Certificate Management, Kerberos, Encryption, etc.), Big Data in motion (NiFi, Minifi, Kafka, etc.), Big Data at rest (HDFS, Yarn, Hive, etc.), and infrastructure level analysis (resource utilization and allocation, infrastructure architecture design, etc). Scott has also spent considerable time working with different AI systems including computer vision, natural language processing, and the underlying AI foundation. Previously, Scott was a Technical and Team Lead for the data in motion team at the Walmart Global Technology Infrastructure Division. While there, Scott was a key asset in revitalizing the global data in motion platform and became the subject matter expert for data in motion in the division. Scott resides in Bentonville, Arkansas. In his free time, Scott enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and is currently studying physics (astronomical, quantum and theoretical) to learn more about this universe we live in.
